If you are new and wondering about my journey, check out the background here. Each week, I weigh in to stay accountable to myself and also to inspire/be inspired through connecting with others on their personal weight loss journey. I’d love to hear your story and connect with you. <3
Current Weight: 211 (Down 1 from last week)
First Goal: 199 (one-derland!)
Long Term Goal: 170
How I am winning this week: I ran 11 miles this week as part of my half marathon training schedule! The good news: the weather and view was AMAZING and I ran for 11 flipping miles! The bad news: I lost my husband’s car key somewhere in that 11 flipping miles…oops! Oh well, a small price to pay for my health right?!?! When I was about half way to my turn around point, I really wanted to turn around early and cut my run in half, and I was doing a pretty good job of convincing myself that it was a good idea. Then, my song with my junior high sweetheart turned husband (that’s right! we made wedding invitations when we were 13) came on and I remembered how much he believes in me and I kept on going. {insert rolling eyes or awwws here}. It is good to have someone who thinks you can do this even more than you do!
Areas of improvement: We went on a spur of the moment San Diego vacay last weekend, which meant I was out of my routine and had a lot of food temptations. I think I did pretty well, but not perfect. I subbed soup for fries and ate salad before any more decadent meal. I’m still working on it and trying to learn balance and moderation.
How I feel: I like my body is getting stronger, which is causing me to literally and metaphorically stand up taller. It. Feels. Good. I think running long distances reminds me that I can do anything for a little while longer than I thought I could.
What’s your journey like? I’d love to hear from you!

Way to go!I think it can be so easy to convince ourselves that we’ve done enough, turn back before it gets “too hard”, etc. I love that your song helped motivate you! Music does that for me too, “Eye of the Tiger” seems to always come on right when I need that extra push to not give up…amazing how that happens!

Thanks! I love “Eye of the Tiger” too! Makes me feel all Rocky Balboa!
my “new” journey started today…i went back to crossfit after over 2 years off…i’m not gonna lie, i had to lie down for a minute or two when i got home & showered….IT WAS TOUGH…if you’ve never SEEN what it’s all about, go on youtube…it’s insane, awesome, real, tough…and i LOVE it…it took me 3 week to get up the courage to walk back in the door…i knew i wouldn’t be able to do unassisted pull ups any longer or clean & jerk with weight on the bar…but i did finish & left nothing behind…IT’S ON…i’m so proud of you
keep…running…

OMG. I would LOVE (and simultaneously be terrified of) going to CrossFit! Unfortunately, the crossfit near us does not have times that line up with my schedule very well, but it is totally on my bucket list!
p.s. i got my new scale & it’s AMAZING….the stickers ROCK and totally make me smile when i step on it…
